Johnny Dean Harvey-Director/Choreographer

Award winning director/choreographer Johnny Dean Harvey discovered his love and talent at age 6 when he took his first dance class.  From there his career as a professional dancer included working with renowned choreographers John Medeiros, Gene Aquirre, Ron Forrella, Thommie Walsh,  Baayork Lee and Steve Merritt in numerous national tours, regional theater productions, videos and films including the cult favorite Robin Hood-Men in Tights directed by Mel Brooks. Under the guidance and encouragement of his mentor Claude Thompson he began to hone his skills as a choreographer,merging diverse styles that has been described as dynamic and fast paced yet grounded in it’s core.

As a director/choreographer he has created shows for many internationally recognized brands such as SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios-Japan, IBM, Avon, The Home Depot and 20th Century Fox, to name a few. Additional highlights include the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Special Olympics,The Goodwill Games Opening Ceremony and Saudi Arabia’s Centennial Celebration, a one of a kind multi- media spectacular set against the Arabian desert, with a cast of 5,000 performers.Tokyo DisneySea’s Mystic Rhythms is one of many collaborations with his creative partner Chad Allen.  Additional collaborative projects include Kinetix at Busch Gardens Europe, national tours of Sesame Street Live, Bear in the Big Blue House and Curious George Live, several regional productions of Joseph....Dreamcoat and One Ocean, the all new daytime Shamu Show currently playing in all three SeaWorld parks.
